What actually happens in production

The difference is accountability. These six stages are managed as one workflow, with the specification, sample approval and quality records kept together from brief to shipment.

  • 01

    Structural design and dielines

The dieline is drawn to your product measurements rather than picked from a size list. Our structural workflow keeps revisions tied to the approved specification before production starts.

  • 02

    Printing

Offset and digital production options are selected around quantity, artwork and sample requirements. Colour is signed off on a physical sheet before the run continues.

  • 03

    Lamination and surface

Matte, gloss and soft-touch film, then foil, emboss or spot UV as the artwork and budget call for them. The finish is specified before sampling.

  • 04

    Die-cutting and gluing

Die-cutting, creasing, folding and gluing are specified against the approved dieline. Cartons arrive flat and glued; rigid boxes continue to hand assembly where the structure requires it.

  • 05

    Rigid box assembly

Rigid box wrapping and hand assembly for corners, linings, magnets, ribbons and inserts, checked as they are set rather than only after completion.

  • 06

    Packing and export

Export cartons, pallet build and documents are coordinated against the order and destination, quoted FOB, CFR, CIF or DDP depending on the requirement.

OEM and ODM

Two ways to work with us

The difference is who owns the design decision and the production workflow. You keep control of the brand; we keep the specification, sample and delivery process aligned.

  • OEM

You bring the design and the specification. We build to your artwork, your dieline and your tolerance, and do not put our mark on it.

    • Your artwork, your dieline
    • No Colormix branding on the pack
    • Production sample signed as the reference
  • ODM

You bring the product and the positioning. We propose structures from the library, adapt the dieline and quote the options side by side.

    • Two or three structures with trade-offs
    • 3D mockup before tooling
    • Finishes recommended per budget

What buyers check before they commit

Four things that decide whether a supplier is worth a second order.

  • Factory-direct production access with one accountable contact from quote to shipment.
  • Structural design, materials, finishing and packaging assembled around your product and quantity.
  • Digital sample in 3–7 days or production-line sample in 7–10 days, reviewed before bulk production.
  • Inspection points, first-off approval and pre-shipment photographs documented for the order.

Questions buyers ask a packaging supplier

How is Colormix different from a standard packaging trader?

Colormix is a manufacturing-led integrated packaging supplier with factory-direct production access. We own the brief, the structural specification, the sampling, the itemised quote and the quality-control workflow, and we plan production against the structure, quantity, finishing and delivery date of each order. You work with one accountable packaging partner rather than coordinating several suppliers.

Can you produce under our brand only?

Yes. On OEM work nothing of ours appears on the packaging or the carton — artwork, dieline and packing are yours. Our name is on the documents, not on the product.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, before artwork or product samples are shared. Send your template or ask for ours; the signed copy is kept with the project file.

What is the minimum order?

500 pcs per size, per size and per structure. Below that the dieline, cutting forme and press make-ready are spread over too few units to be economic.

How do you handle quality control?

Incoming board, first-off print, die-cutting, finishing and final packing are each checked and recorded. A first-off sheet is approved before the run continues, and pre-shipment photographs are sent before the cartons close.

Can you take over an existing pack?

Yes. Send a physical sample or the dieline plus artwork. If the dieline is usable we quote from it; if it needs correction we say so before quoting, rather than discovering it at die-cutting.

Ask for the specification, not the brochure

Send the product, the quantity and the destination. The first reply proposes two or three structures with the trade-offs and an itemised price.
